Sensorimotor Computation Lab, University of British Columbia

  • Developed a graphical user interface for a rendering application called JCinema which works as a bridge between a
simulator that outputs geometry describing a scene and an open source RenderMan package allowing for the
    production of high-quality output.
  • My work focused on the visualization of the simulation’s geometry for the user by developing a UI display for the
user to manipulate the orientation of the objects at any given time step over a specified time interval and set key
    frames.
  • UI elements include allowing the user to set initial scene parameters; displaying two viewing perspectives, a birds-eye
view of the world and the output camera path to be rendered; applying different material attributes to each object in
the scene; adding and adjusting the positions of the lights.
  • The above research won First Prize for “The People’s Choice” at the UBC Computer Science Poster Competition for
Undergraduate Research 2010. Click here to view poster.
