Undergraduate Student Research Award (NSERC USRA) Summer 2009
Sensorimotor Computation Lab, University of British Columbia

My work focused on developing 3D visualization tools for software that works as a bridge between a physically based biomechanical simulator and an open source rendering engine for the production of high-quality photo-realistic output.

  • Developed the user interface for a 3D viewing panel which visualizes large data-sets of geometry describing musculoskeletal systems generated by the biomechanical simulator; interface allows user control and ease for further investigation of musculoskeletal systems' behaviour in a physical-based environment.
  • Worked on the interaction which allows the researcher to manipulate the viewing perspective, set key-frame animation outputting photo-realistic renderings.
  • This research was presented at the Grace Hopper Conference 2010 General Poster session in Atlanta GA and won First Prize for "The People's Choice" at UBC Computer Science's "Undergrad Research Competition" 2010.
